FARGO (2016) — Norman Leslie, President, National Hospitality Services, LLC (NHS), has been named to the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) People Committee. The international committee meets quarterly evaluate and update IHG’s employee education and training programs.
“The group’s purpose is to empower and develop great people at IHG properties through available learning modules and tools,” Leslie says. “IHG has an exceptional group of employees that drive the guest experience. Investing in their development continues to separate IHG from the competition.”
The international committee has varied influence, with approximately 20–25 representatives across many continents in a variety of hospitality-industry positions. Conference calls supplement quarterly meetings as the group implements ongoing program initiatives.
“I appreciate this opportunity to assist IHG,” Leslie says, adding that the committee’s goals align closely with NHS’s commitment to employee development. “It’s a symbiotic relationship. I’m able to help the brand, while learning a lot in the process.”
Leslie has over 30 years’ experience in the lodging industry, starting as a front desk representative and working his way up through the business. He has acquired or operated over 20 hotels in his career so far, and serves on a variety of regional and national boards.
