FARGO, ND (November 27, 2017) Delta Hotels by Marriott Fargo has been named Fargo-Moorhead’s Best Hotel in the 2017 “Best of the Red River Valley” awards. The contest, hosted by the Forum of Fargo Moorhead, names the best local businesses in a variety of categories through community-wide nominations and voting.
“This is a very exciting award for the Delta,” said Sarah Koustrup, Executive Vice President at National Hospitality Services, the management company which oversees the hotel. “It’s been a big year for this hotel as they completed their transition from a Ramada to a Delta – and we are so happy to see the community embracing all the changes.”
Originally opened as the Ramada Plaza and Suites in 1996, the hotel completed their year-long transformation to the new Delta by Marriott brand in May 2017. The property’s transition included an extensive renovation and upgrades to their lobby, event space, water park, fitness center and guest rooms, as well as a new Starbucks kiosk in their lobby and new concept for their restaurant: Urban 42 Kitchen + Bar. Urban 42 was also nominated this year for “Best Fargo Restaurant”.
The Delta has 185 guest rooms and suites, indoor water park with 150ft water slide, hot tub and pool-side bar and state-of-the-art fitness center. The hotel also features 23,000 square feet of event and meeting space, and offers event planning and catering services through their Inspired Events team.
The hotel is the first Delta Hotel in the region, and is a part of the brand’s expansion from its origins in Canada to a worldwide Marriott brand. Acquired by Marriott in 2015, Delta Hotels focus on streamlining the travel experience, offering premium amenities and high-tech features including high-speed wifi throughout the hotel, USB outlets and focused workspaces in guest rooms. The brand has expanded to 13 United States properties with plans for global expansion in coming years.
“We’ve seen an incredibly positive response to all the changes from our long-time guests and clients, as well as travelers and guests visiting us for the first time,” Koustrup said. “There really isn’t another property like this anywhere in our region, and we can’t wait to see continued growth and success for this hotel.”
