PLYMOUTH, MN (October 21, 2019) Country Inn & Suites Minneapolis West/Plymouth and Global Health Ministries have teamed up to recycle linens and towels from the hotel to be used for bandages and other medical supplies for the organization to donate to under-supplied medical centers across Africa and parts of Asia.
“Hotels can often produce a lot of waste in the name of customer service,” said Drew Lynch, General Manager at Country Inn and Suites Minneapolis West. “For example, sheets that need to be discarded when they get a single stain, despite being in otherwise great condition. We think that this partnership with Global Health Ministries is a wonderful opportunity for the hotel not only to help those in need, but also to recycle these linens so that they are not going into a landfill.”
This partnership developed in July of 2019, and to-date the hotel has donated more than 50 large bags of sheets and towels. Donated sheets are cut and used to make wraps for bandages or to help set patients’ broken bones, towels are used in maternity kits given to new mothers in Global Health Ministries’ service areas.
